It may shock you to learn that more than 20 percent of the nation’s water treatment systems have violated key provisions of the Safe Drinking Water Act over the last five years, according to a New York Times analysis of federal data.
A New York Times article reports that over 49 million people have been drinking unsafe water since 2004.
Getting a water filter or filtration system that results in your having safe water to drink, cook with, and bathe in is not a matter of going to the local hardware store or Home Depot and picking up something off the shelf. It’s also not a matter of buying an off-the-shelf whole house water system, no matter how expensive. The fact is that to get safe water you must get a water filtering technology that is custom fit to your specific water conditions.
This is not such an easy task because there are many factors that need to be considered about water quality… and the first step is to find out what the condition of your water actually is. For that you can use municipal treatment plant reports and water test kits.
