You’ve probably heard about the miracle water that comes out of ionizing water treatment devices. These machines range in price from $1,000 to $4,500 and claim to have incredible health benefits for the body. Claims like curing cancer, diabetes, and heart disease are not uncommon.
The first thing that you should know is that there is absolutely no solid scientific research from any independent reputable source that supports any of the claims of the filters including improved health, micro-clustered water, improved body pH, and anti-oxidant water.
Water filters really have become the rage. The question is how does the average consumer know which water filters to buy? A few of the options for consumers include, but are not limited to the following.
- Pitcher-type filters
- Faucet add-on filters
- Water distillation systems
- Sediment filters
- Reverse osmosis filters
- Ionizing filters
- Point of use filters
- Shower filters
- Whole house filters
The list goes on… and it’s really difficult to know what the right thing to do is because there are so many conflicting claims among filter and filtration system manufacturers. Each one claims that they are better than the rest, but the truth is that there are major differences. In order to make an effective decision you need to know the following.
- What all the possible contaminants of water are.
- The condition of your water and the contaminants in your water.
- The acceptable level of each type of contaminant in safe water.
- The types of contaminants each model of water filter or water filtration system treats.
- The effectiveness of each filter in treating each type of contaminant.
